National Handwashing Awareness Week
The 4 Principles of Hand Awareness
1. Wash your hands when they are dirty and before eating
2. Do not cough into your hands
3. Do not sneeze into your hands
4. Above all, do not put your fingers into your eyes, nose or mouth
Mayo Clinic has a more comprehensive list that make more sense to me.
It includes washing your hands before and after preparing food and using a toilet or changing a diaper.
They also recommend the best ways to wash your hands. Using bacterial soap is not recommended.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated: “It is well documented that one of the most important measures for preventing the spread of pathogens is effective hand washing.”
It’s maybe gross, but I sneeze and cough into the crook of my elbow. What about you?
